The capital of Gujarat has been the site of Hindu - Muslim riots for more than two decades. The most recent riots in 2002 irrupted after a tragic train fire that killed up to 56 Hindu activists. The resulting riots against the Muslims killed more than 400. These Muslim men await a meal outside a teashop in hopes someone will purchase their lunch. Ten rupees (25 cents) will feed one man a meal of dhal and chapatti.
